A journey goes from Draft to Open to Active. Each step is a button on the journey's page, under Journey Information.
Draft
While the journey is a draft, only you can see it, and you can change all of it. Use this time to set up its details and plan its first activities.
Open
Choose Open Journey when you're ready for readers. The journey is now open: readers can find it in Explore and on your project's page, and ask to join. If the project was a draft, opening the journey also makes the project Active, so readers can see it.
To bring readers in, share the journey's link: choose Share Journey from the journey's menu. Readers who joined your project's waitlist get a notification that a journey is open.

Active
When the journey is ready to begin, choose Begin Journey Now. You can begin once:
- at least one participant has joined, and
- at least one activity has been created.
Until then, the journey's page lists what's still needed.
Beginning the journey makes it active, and participants get a notification. Once it's active, it doesn't take new readers, and its Journey Name and Capacity are fixed. See Creating a Journey.
Deleting a journey
You can delete a journey that's a draft or completed. Choose the delete button and confirm. It's moved to the archive, out of sight of readers.
