Journey Settings

Change how your Journey runs.

Most of a journey's settings are its details, which you change with the edit button on its page. What you can change depends on its Status. See Creating a Journey.

Keeping the project details current

A journey keeps its own copy of its project's details, such as the title, description and cover, so readers see them on journey cards. If you change the project, choose Refresh Project from the journey's menu to update the journey.

Ending a journey

When your story is done, choose End Journey on the journey's page and confirm. Ending the journey:

  • publishes a final The End activity for participants;
  • makes the journey Completed, so you can't publish new activities.

Participants can still complete any activities they haven't done. When they reach The End, they choose Finish Journey and see a summary of their journey.

Ending a journey early

If you can't continue, the Fictional Crowd app has End Journey Early. It asks why, such as having no time to keep writing, pausing the project for now, or planning to restart the story later.

Archiving a project also ends its running journeys. See Managing Your Projects.

Paused journeys

A journey that's Paused is on hold: participants can't take part in its activities until it resumes. This is different from a participant pausing the journey for themselves, which only stops their own notifications.
