A Project is a story on Fictional Crowd. It belongs to the author who created it, and holds everything about the story: its text, its details, and the journeys that share it with readers.
What's in a project
- Blocks. The story's text, in pieces: a chapter, a scene, or any size the author likes. Blocks are written in the editor, in order, and shared with readers through journeys.
- Details. The Title, Description, cover art and Project Language, and the details that help readers decide if it's for them: Genres, Intended Audience, Potential Triggers, Violence Level and Romance Level.
- References. The author's notes on characters, locations and items. Only the author sees them.
- Journeys. The groups of readers going through the story. A project can have many, one after another or at the same time.
Who can see it
A project's Status decides who can see it:
- Draft: only the author. Every project starts here.
- Active: everyone. Readers can find it on their Home page, see its journeys, and join its waitlist.
- Archived: only the author again. An archived project can be made active later.
A project becomes active when the author opens its first journey, or chooses to activate it.
How readers read it
Readers don't open a project and read from the start. They join one of its journeys, and the author shares blocks there as Reading activities, a few at a time. That's what lets a group read a story together as it grows.
When a project has no open journey, readers can join its waitlist, and hear when one opens.
