Every account has a public profile. It's how readers and authors get to know each other. Edit yours in Settings › Profile.
What's on a profile
Things you choose to share, all optional:
- your avatar and the name people know you by;
- a Tagline: a short introduction;
- About: as much or as little about yourself as you like;
- your Pronouns;
- your general location, links to your website and social accounts, and your preferred language.
Things Fictional Crowd shows for you:
- your Followers and Following;
- your projects and journeys that are visible to others;
- your Reputation, with its Reading and Creation parts, and your activity heatmap. See Rewards & Sparks.
Privacy
Everything on your profile is public. Share only what you're comfortable with, and never your street address or other private details.
Some settings that sound similar are private:
- The time zone in Settings › Account decides your days for streaks, the heatmap and the Writing Coach. Nobody sees it. The time zone you can add to your profile is separate, and public.
- Your Writing Coach goal and history are only visible to you.
- Your Sparks balance shows only on your own profile.
Following, blocking and reporting
From someone's profile you can Follow or Subscribe to them. See Following Authors.
If someone is bothering you, you can block them or report their content from their profile's menu. People you've blocked are listed under Blocked Users, in Settings › Safety.
